Answered: Why is one black?

Smart Black RV TV Outlet

It is illegal to have a TV within view of the driver in operation while the engine is running.  To facilitate this, RV manufacturers install a special “smart outlet” that essentially just becomes disabled (no power) with the ignition on.  There is no easy way to avoid this.  It is virtually impossible to unplug the TV from the black outlet to the white outlet.  Just can’t be done.  Anyhow, if you do figure out a way, keep in mind it is dangerous to have the distraction.

I did not know it was illegal. I thought it was already enough that it is simply a very stupid idea to watch TV while driving (unless you want to experience some 4D TV while watching a show about RV wrecks?).
